Baby Kolton
Yesterday I got to photograph a special little someone! Little baby Kolton, a strapping 9 lb baby boy who I've been waiting to meet for the last three weeks! OMG look at those cheeks! Such a lucky momma and papa, he is very sweet :) I'm so grateful to have been able to capture part of this perfect little family's journey from two to three. I can't wait to see how this little man grows!

Happy Birthday Karina!
Beautiful baby girl! You've grown so much since the last time I saw you! Walking, chatting, giggling :) It was an absolute pleasure to take pictures for this lovely family again as they celebrate Karina's first birthday. She is such a sweet tempered little girl, but when she eats cake, she EATS cake! My kinda gal ;) Happy birthday sweet girl! I hope it's a wonderful year!

Kellsey's Whipped Cream Session
This weekend we were supposed to have a yucky storm. Instead, we had some amazing skies that made the perfect painterly backdrop for Kellsey's fine art session. But first! We had to get a little messy :)
When I was a kid, we had an old record player that was about the size of a small sofa. And one of my favorite things was to put a record in and watch the needle as it spun round and round. It was very fascinating to me how music could come from the needle. And one of my favorite albums was "Whipped Cream and Other Delights". The woman on the cover was coated in whipped cream and she looked like a princess. For years, I've wanted to recreate it, with my own twist of course, and thanks to Kellsey, that is just what we did this weekend! I won't tell all my secrets ;) but we sure had a lot of fun!
Then, once we got all cleaned up, we drove out to one of the long farm roads and braved the strong Iowa winds (that blew my giant reflector away into a field!) for some sunset portraits. Thank you Kellsey for letting me have a little bit of fun!

Enchanting Ella
This sweet girl was a bit hesitant at first, but a little encouragement from mom and dad and she turned into quite the ham! Smiles and giggles and plenty of peek-a-boo kept me on my toes as I chased her around to capture that adorable little face :) Two is such a fun age, as little ones are just starting to speak and explore their new world, and I'm so glad I got to capture a small piece of this precious baby's childhood!
